Stud: Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins put together his second straight solid performance for Minnesota behind center in the Week 6 contest, finishing with over 300 passing through the air for the second week in a row. While converting on 22 of his 29 pass attempts while throwing for one interception, Cousins went off for 333 yards passing and four touchdowns to pace the Vikings offensive unit.

When Minnesota has the ability to hurt teams in the passing game and holds a more balanced offense like what has been on display the last two weeks, the Vikings are and will continue to be a hard team to slow down and keep up with.

On Sunday in a high-scoring outburst against the Eagles, the Vikings showcased they can still hurt teams while relying on the passing game. And Cousins was a big reason for that success for Minnesota.

Dud: Vikings pass defense

Minnesota’s defense did manage to force Philadelphia into a few turnovers throughout the course of the game, but the Eagles were able to throw for around 300 yards and scored twice through the air in the contest. Their inability to stop Carson Wentz led to the pass defense being a big dud.

Wentz led that passing attack against one of the top defenses in the NFL while completing 26 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Wentz did manage to throw one interception while he was sacked twice in the loss.

Among Philadelphia wide receivers, five different wideouts were able to record over 40 yards in the game, led by Miles Sanders with 86 yards receiving and one touchdown on three catches and Alshon Jeffery with 76 yards and one touchdown on 10 total catches and 12 targets.

Minnesota will need to continue to try and clean up its passing defense moving forward this season, and the Vikings will have another big test in the passing game against Detroit next weekend on the road.
