Denver Broncos. Jeffrey Okudah. 7. player. 45. . CB

There is no shortage of needs for the Denver Broncos when looking toward the future. Perhaps the only position you can definitively say that don’t have question marks is at edge rusher, running back and perhaps at quarterback, depending on your opinions about Drew Lock. However, with Chris Harris Jr. likely gone after this season, the Broncos need to shore up the future of the secondary.

To accomplish that, the Broncos nab Jeffrey Okudah out of Ohio State. While he was looking like a fringe first-round prospect coming into the 2019 college season, he’s played his way into being CB1 in the 2020 NFL Draft class. Denver has to love his length, speed and refined technique already that ultimately make him a potential lockdown playmaker capable of both shutting down matchups and making splash plays if tested.

Tristan Wirfs. 8. player. 32. . OT. Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are coming off their first win under the direction of Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury, moving the rookie quarterback-head coach duo to 1-3-1 in their inaugural effort. There are signs of life from this team, even if it’s been inconsistent. Perhaps most importantly, though, the Red Birds need to address a lacking second level of the defense but also protect Murray with help on the offensive line.

It’s the latter that piques the interest of the Cardinals with the No. 8 overall pick in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft. Tristan Wirfs from Iowa is a tremendous specimen at offensive tackle, possessing every tool to compete at either left or right tackle in the NFL — though he plays on the right side for Iowa right now. Wherever Arizona would choose to play him, however, he’d be their best player on that unit upon his arrival.
