4. Houston Texans (16)

Two weeks ago, the Houston Texans were one of those teams that seemed difficult to figure out after putting up just 10 points during a loss at home against the Carolina Panthers.

But after Sunday’s impressive win on the road over the Kansas City Chiefs, some football fans are now considering the Texans as the top team to beat in the AFC, even if the New England Patriots are still undefeated heading into Week 7.

One week after tossing five touchdown passes during a thrilling win over the Atlanta Falcons, Deshaun Watson came through with another strong performance in Kansas City by finishing with three total touchdowns (two rushing).

Since joining the NFL in 2017, Watson has quickly worked his way into the conversation of being one of the top quarterbacks in the league, and to watch him help Houston pull off a tough win on the road in Kansas City shows how special of a player he truly is.

The Indianapolis Colts will certainly put up a strong fight in Week 7, but if the Texans are making a strong case for being a top team in the AFC, why shouldn’t they be considered the favorites in the AFC South at the moment?

Plenty could happen from now until the end of December, but this Houston team seems determined to continue proving themselves worthy of being a serious contender in the AFC, especially if Watson looks this great on a weekly basis.
