2. Stefon Diggs

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs needs to step up once again. Diggs is coming off of his best performance of the 2019 campaign last weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles, getting the ball from Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins more than any other wide receiver in the victory.

Against the Eagles in Week 6, Diggs tallied his second 100-plus yard receiving game of the season through six games to pace the Vikings to a win at home.

The wideout, who has been in and out of the public eye over the past few weeks following his comments over being frustrated with Minnesota’s offensive production, finished with a season-high 167 yards receiving and three touchdowns in the contest for the Vikings.

With seven total catches and a team-best 11 targets, Diggs averaged 23.9 yards per catch and broke out for two lengthy touchdown receptions in the first half to allow Minnesota to jump out to a large lead.

Coming into that game last weekend with just one touchdown reception — which he accomplished back in Week 2, Diggs more than tripled that season total in one game with a hat trick of touchdowns through the air for the Vikings.

Not only is it important for Minnesota to get Diggs going and into the flow of the offense this week against Detroit to keep the wide receiver happy and out of the media’s headlines, but if Diggs is heavily involved in the offense that will likely mean the Vikings were able to air the ball out early and often against the Lions and ultimately resulting in running up the score once again against one of their NFC North rivals.
