8. 49ers improve to 6-0

Through six weeks of action, there have been plenty of surprise contenders across the NFL, but it’s safe to say there weren’t many football fans that expected the San Francisco 49ers to be sitting on top of the NFC with a 5-0 record.

Last year before Jimmy Garoppolo went down after suffering a torn ACL in September, the 2018 season would quickly go downhill for the 49ers after finishing with one of the worst records in the league.

But now that Garoppolo is fully healthy along with the defense emerging as one of the best in the league, San Francisco has received plenty of respect for becoming one of the top contenders in the NFL.

In fact, some football fans are already selecting the 49ers as their new Super Bowl pick, whether Richard Sherman wants to hear it or not, although this is a team that still has plenty to prove.

Up next, San Francisco faces a Washington Redskins team coming off their first win in 2019 last weekend over the Miami Dolphins to help remove the pressure of possibly going the entire year winless.

On paper, the Redskins seem like a team that will be no match for the undefeated 49ers, meaning Kyle Shanahan’s squad should have little trouble improving to 6-0.
