Kickers

Start: Brandon McManus DEN (vs. KC)

McManus made all four of his kicks last week for 13 points in fantasy scoring and that pushed him up to the 11th best kicker this season. He has missed only two kicks all year and they were both from 50+ yards away and on the road — not at home in the thin air of Denver where the Broncos play on Thursday night.

With a short week for the Broncos, the struggling offense which ranks in bottom eight in the NFL and with the Chiefs coming into town, I think this is going to be a huge week for McManus as he exceeds his projected 8.5 points this week. He’s a perfect replacement if you have Panthers kicker Joey Slye out on a bye this week.

Sit: Dan Bailey MIN (vs. DET)

With Kirk Cousins finally throwing the ball more than 10 yards downfield, the Vikings offense looked as good as it’s ever been on Sunday in Week 6. Unfortunately, that meant that Bailey only had to kick one field goal from 30 yards and the rest of his eight points came from extra points.

With the offense finally clicking, their stout defense still looking like a top-five unit in football and Bailey coming off a game where he kicked five extra points, that’s just not enough usage to warrant a spot in your lineup in a crucial point in the fantasy season. I expect Bailey to finish under his projected 6.1 points this week in Detroit.

Some Week 7 waiver-wire targets: Matt Prater, DET (vs. MIN); Josh Lambo, JAX (vs. CIN); Brett Maher, DAL (vs. PHI).
