Jacksonville Jaguars: 5 Players that must shine vs. Bengals in Week 7
By Larry Brake
The Jacksonville Jaguars travel to Cincinnati for Sunday’s Week 7 game. Here are five players that must shine in order to walk away winners.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the road, in week 7, to play the winless Cincinnati Bengals. Jacksonville attempts to stop the current two-game losing streak. Once again, the Jaguars defense will have to contain the Bengals running back, Joe Mixon. He will be the third consecutive high level back following Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara.
Jacksonville might feel the aftershocks after trading elite cornerback Jalen Ramsey earlier in the week. Ramsey was granted his trade request. The Jaguars received three draft picks to complete the deal. There are not many defensive players left from that elite 2017 Jaguars roster.
Jaguars owner Shad Khan addressed the Ramsey deal and the Jaguars moving forward. Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com reported on Khan’s comments:
"“I give kudos to our football staff for not only managing this matter extremely well, but giving our team and fans a lot to look forward to in years to come… it’s time to turn the attention again to what’s most important — the Jacksonville Jaguars.”"
The void left by Ramsey will probably be filled by Tre Herndon, in the starting lineup. Is it reasonable to think that he can he shut down the opposing number one receiver? He will line up against the No. 2 receiver in Cincinnati.
Here is the first player that must shine in Week 7.
