1. New Orleans Saints

Imagine seeing Green and Michael Thomas line up next to one another. Assuming Green is healthy, that instantly becomes one of the best wide receiver duos in the league. Throw in a recovered Drew Brees and you’ve got a recipe for a super-offense.

Jason La Canfora originally reported the link between New Orleans and Green for CBSSports.com.

Behind Thomas, New Orleans’ best wide receiver is 34-year old speedster, Ted Ginn Jr. However, Ginn has just 206 receiving yards this season. Thomas’ 632 yards dwarf Ginn’s production. Even Alvin Kamara has outpaced Ginn, recording 276 receiving yards so far. Free-agent signee Jared Cook hasn’t produced much this season either.

The wide receiver with the third-most yards on the team, trailing Thomas and Ginn, is Tre’Quan Smith. Smith has 75 receiving yards, which is 30 yards fewer than what Thomas is averaging per game.

New Orleans’ offensive production is linked solely to Kamara and Thomas. In the event of an injury, or facing a defense with a lockdown cornerback, the Saints will be quick to suffer. Adding Green will diversify the offense and expand its potential.

Of course, New Orleans could pass on Green if Cincinnati asks for too much in return. The Saints have drafted very well over the past five years, so draft picks might be worth more to them than a rental player. That being said, who knows how many years Brees has left in his arm? This might be the best opportunity to go all in and make another Super Bowl push.
