1. Raiders make statement in Green Bay

Week 7 for the Oakland Raiders can be a lot of things. If they lose, it’s predictable and relegates them to where most think they reside in the NFL pecking order. However, if they win, it’s a new day in the AFC West.

With a victory, the Raiders are all of a sudden a team to keep an eye on. In a division with the Chiefs and really no one else, Oakland can pretty much call its own shot. If they win in Green Bay, they have a chance to not just go to Houston with a full head of steam, but an opportunity at closing out October at 5-2 and as a legitimate playoff contender.

The win over the Bears in London was no fluke. The Raiders are good. And while a few wanted to write the epitaph after the whole AB debacle, most now see a team clearly on the rise and in control of their own destiny.

The game in Green Bay is perfect timing. Nothing would put the Raiders back on the NFL map quicker than knocking out the Packers at home. Carr having a big day over Rodgers might even solicit some MVP talk, and who knows, in a division missing a signature star like Patrick Mahomes, a big shuffle might be happening.
