Atlanta Falcons defensive end Vic Beasley Jr. could be traded ahead of the 2019 NFL Trade Deadline but which teams could make a deal for him?

Things have gone as poorly as anyone could have imagined for the Atlanta Falcons to start the 2019 NFL season. Dan Quinn’s team had high hopes of competing for the NFC South but, after a 1-5 start, the only thing they seem to be competing for is a chance at the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft — and they are likely going to lose that. The front office seemingly realizes this, though, as they appear ready to trade Vic Beasley Jr.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jordan Schultz on Friday, Vic Beasley has been put on the trade block. The 2015 first-round pick led the NFL in sacks in his second season but has since been pedestrian at best as a pass-rusher. Though the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option, they appear ready to get him off the books in order to recoup something for him in a trade.

Though Beasley has underperformed since his 2016 campaign, there is no shortage of teams that could use the help he would ultimately provide at 4-3 defensive end or 3-4 outside linebacker. And with the NFL Trade Deadline approaching on Oct. 29, these are five teams that could make a deal with the Falcons for the former first-round pick.

5. Philadelphia Eagles

Since he’s been making the calls for the Philadelphia Eagles front office, Howie Roseman has earned the reputation for being somewhat of a magician. Between making cap space work, being aggressive in making moves that can improve the roster and just simply pulling things out of thin air (or so it seems), Roseman has never been shy about doing what’s necessary to capitalize on value. And he has that opportunity here.

Considering the price that Beasley could likely be had for from the Falcons, the Eagles would be wise to go after the pass-rusher. Despite the name-brand players that Philadelphia has up front, they have largely underperformed to start the 2019 season. While Beasley isn’t single-handedly going to change that, he could help.

Having Beasley in tow to rotate in with guys like Derek Barnett and Brandon Graham could help the Eagles top pass-rushers stay fresh. Furthermore, the change of scenery could well spark something in Beasley to rejuvenate his career. The results could be quite beneficial if Philly were to pull the trigger on this type of trade.
