Stud: Bobby Wagner, LB

Whenever the Seahawks have a bad game, it’s easy to turn toward the defensive side of the ball and Wagner for a stud. The four-time First Team All-Pro was all over the field against the Ravens. He recorded 13 combined tackles and a pass defensed. Wagner led both teams in tackles.

Wagner has 69 tackles this season and he is on pace to finish the year with 157. That would be Wagner’s highest total since 2016 when he posted 167 tackles. While he does not have a sack or interception this season, Wagner has still been Seattle’s defensive MVP this year.

Dud: The pass rush, again

In the pass rush’s defense, Lamar Jackson is one of the slipperiest quarterbacks in the NFL. He moves around with great fluidity, and that makes it hard for larger defenders to keep up. The Ravens also have a talented offensive line that does a good job keeping Jackson upright.

However, Seattle knew about Jackson’s play style and the strength of the offensive line before the game. It’s something you have to game plan around. The Seahawks did just see Jackson rush for 152 yards in Week 6 after all. They knew he was coming, and they failed to stop him.

While Jackson struggled to throw the ball, he carried the ball 14 times for 116 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. He was also sacked just once when he accidentally fell late in the fourth quarter. Seattle posted one quarterback hit during the game.

The Seahawks failed to pressure or bottle up Baltimore’s greatest offensive threat. This is the second week in a row the Seahawks have failed to pressure the opposing quarterback. The team now has just one sack in the previous three weeks. That’s unacceptable.
