Past the halfway point of the college football season, these eight 2020 NFL Draft prospects inspire some intrigue coming out of Week 8.

There weren’t a lot of big-time matchups in Week 8 of the college football season. However, scouting out the top prospects for the 2020 NFL Draft doesn’t always mean watching the high-profile games. It means highlighting the important matchups and totality of the film and reacting to what we see on a week-to-week basis.

Coming out of Week 8, there were numerous players on both sides of the ball that stood out. These aren’t just the best players on the big winners of the day but also guys who did their part to try and get a win, even if it was a fruitless effort at the end of the day.

With that in mind, let’s dive into eight intriguing 2020 NFL Draft prospects that deserve to be in the spotlight after college football Week 8.

8. Robert Windsor, DT, Penn State

The most noteworthy name along the Penn State defensive line is Yetur Gross-Matos. It makes sense considering he’s one of the top defensive end prospects eligible for 2020 NFL Draft. However, his teammate, Robert Windsor, is dominant in his own right. Penn State gives up just 2.1 yards per carry to opponents on the 2019 season and No. 54 plays a major role.

When you turn on a Penn State game, the 6-4, 285-pound Windsor jumps off the screen. In fact, at times, he proves to be unstoppable. After a dominant performance in Week 7, Windsor followed it up with a solid day in the Week 8 victory over Michigan, finishing four tackles.

Although he’s lean, he does have enough strength to control his man. He keeps his eyes in the backfield and doesn’t get washed on run plays. Traffic is not an issue as he plays through it. He doesn’t have elite athleticism but shows flashes as he exploits gaps in route to the ball carrier.

Based on his length, motor and strength, he’s an ideal fit a five-technique in a 3-4 scheme. Windsor isn’t a name on many big boards but there’s no doubt he’ll hear his name called on draft day.
