2020 NFL Draft: 8 Intriguing prospects from college football Week 8
3. Bradlee Anae, EDGE, Utah
The Utes routed Arizona State, 21-3, continuing their defensive dominance led by one the top senior edge rushers in the 2020 NFL Draft. Senior edge rusher Bradlee Anae faced Arizona State’s freshman left tackle and took full advantage. Anae finished the game with three sacks and a pass defense.
Anae is a 6-3, 265-pound prospect that’ll get the blue-collar lunch pail label, and deservedly so. He’s a versatile edge rusher who excels with his motor, effort and technique. Anae understands how to exploit tackles who give him too much depth and rarely over-pursues. He does a great job with his counter move, though he doesn’t always use it.
Anae does rush with quick hands and utilizes multiple tools. He sets the edge as a run defender with good leverage and power. However, his best asset is the versatility he’ll bring at the next level. Thanks to Utah defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley, Anae has experience playing with his hand in the dirt and standing up.
In a 4-3 scheme, he’s ideally suited on the weak side while he can play either linebacker spot in a 3-4. His name isn’t on many top 100 big boards yet. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t end up there as he has Brandon Graham-type potential at the NFL level.
