26. Los Angeles Chargers (24)

Over the past couple of seasons, there has been a lot of talk about running backs and money. Todd Gurley made a fortune with the Los Angeles Rams and then Le’Veon Bell wanted the Pittsburgh Steelers to back up the Brinks truck for him. He ended up holding out for a whole season before getting paid by the New York Jets.

This season, it continued as both Ezekiel Elliott and Melvin Gordon decided to hold out as they were seeking new contracts. Zeke ended up landing a huge deal with Dallas but the Los Angeles Chargers told Gordon they were done negotiating and he ended up sitting out the first four weeks.

So far though, he hasn’t done a lot to convince the front office to break out their wallets. After 49 yards in the first two weeks, Gordon ended up gaining just 32 yards on 16 carries with a long of six yards on the day. He was again shown up by Austin Ekeler, who wasn’t great running the ball but did gain 118 yards on seven receptions with a touchdown.

Gordon still had a shot at being the hero late as he got the ball on the one-yard line with his team down by three. He didn’t score though, as he fumbled the ball and L.A. fell to 2-5 on the season. A far cry from the 12-4 record they had a year ago.
