New York Giants (2-5) at Detroit Lions (2-3-1)

Sunday, October 27, 1PM ET

The Detroit Lions desperately need to get back on track, especially if they stand any chance of staying alive in the NFC North race. Lucky for them, they’ve got a date with the New York Giants in Week 8 that presents an ideal opportunity to notch another win.

Let’s be honest — the Giants haven’t been good this year. Daniel Jones taking the reins was a positive step, but he’s far from the solve-all. There are still far too many gaps in the roster, especially on the defensive end. Even the return of Saquon Barkley wasn’t enough to save them against the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday.

While their 2-3-1 record isn’t impressive, the Lions haven’t exactly limped their way there. They’ve looked exceptional at times, but continue to pull tough matchups against quality clubs. Compared to a couple of their recent opponents, the Giants should be a cakewalk.

New York will go down swinging, but the Lions figure to have the edge. Matthew Stafford will get things going through the air, taking advantage of the Giants’ susceptible secondary and putting enough points on the board to break this three-game losing streak.

Prediction: Lions win 21-16
