13. Darnold bounces back with three touchdowns, no interceptions

One week after shocking the NFL by handing the Dallas Cowboys the biggest surprise loss of Week 7, the New York Jets look like they missed the memo for Monday’s game against the New England Patriots.

During his second game back after dealing with mono, Sam Darnold looked like a deer in headlights against the stellar defense of the Patriots by finishing with five turnovers (four interceptions) to go along with just 86 passing yards.

Clearly, this performance was the last thing the Jets and their fans expected after looking at how great the former first-round pick looked the week before, but hopefully Darnold can use this as a learning experience.

Despite the Jacksonville Jaguars coming off a big win on the road in Week 7 against the winless Cincinnati Bengals, the Jets realize this could be the perfect opportunity for Darnold to bounce back to help get over what took place on Monday in front of a national audience.

Since recovering from mono is never easy, it’s unfair to be too harsh on Darnold since one can only imagine what the few months have been like, but in order for the Jets to have a shot at competing, they will need him to play on a high level.
