Here are five teams that should consider themselves on upset alert for NFL Week 8 of the 2019 season.

Even though there weren’t any crazy upsets from last weekend, NFL Week 8 could see a few teams struggle against teams they’re expected to beat.

Last weekend, the San Francisco 49ers came close to suffering their first loss of 2019 before eventually escaping with a 9-0 victory on the road over the Washington Redskins, although the sloppy conditions made this one extra difficult to play.

While the 49ers won’t be on this week’s list of potential teams on upset alert since they will face a legitimate contender in the Carolina Panthers, if there’s one team worth keeping an eye on, the New Orleans Saints deserve to be on top of the list.

Back in Week 2 when Drew Brees went down with a thumb injury, the Saints seemed like they would be lucky to just win a few games until their star quarterback was healthy enough to return.

As football fans now know, this has been far from the case, as New Orleans has turned into one of the hottest teams in the NFL with five wins in a row thanks to Teddy Bridgewater leading the way on offense.

On Sunday, Bridgewater and the Saints will face another difficult challenge with the Arizona Cardinals coming to town. And while this seemed like an easy win a few weeks ago for the Saints, the Cardinals are all of a sudden feeling hot after winning three games in a row.

Time will tell when it comes to seeing whether Arizona has what it takes to make it four wins in a row over New Orleans, but for now, let’s take a look at a few other teams that should consider themselves on upset alert in Week 8 along with the Saints.
