On Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars will entertain the hapless New York Jets. Here are three bold predictions for that game in Week 8.

Come Sunday and the continuation of Week 8, the Jacksonville Jaguars have the opportunity to lift their season record to 4-4. They host the hapless New York Jets, who are coming off a humiliating shutout loss at home. Jacksonville can not take the Jets lightly.

Remember, in last season’s game, Doug Marrone ignited a firestorm in the closing minutes of that game. Marrone elected to go for the two-point conversion after a late touchdown with 25 seconds left to play. Would that give New York an added motivation to win the game in a most decisive manner?

Currently, the Jets are struggling to find their identity as a team. They are the worst team in total offense by averaging 209 yards per game. The Jets defense is allowing 352.2 yards per game to rank at 14th in total defense.

The Jaguars defense appears to be regaining their swagger. In Cincinnati, they flexed their muscles by putting their fingerprints on the victory. They forced four turnovers, including an interception returned for a touchdown by Yannick Ngakoue.

Gardner Minshew is playing well in the absence of the injured Nick Foles. Most of all, Leonard Fournette is the heart and soul of the running attack. Expect the Jaguars to continue running the ball early and often against the Jets.

Here’s the first bold prediction for the Week 8 game against the Jets.
