2. 49ers vs. Panthers

Could Sunday’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers turn out to be an early playoff preview in the NFC?

For two teams that were originally expected to be playoff contenders last season, the 49ers and Panthers have found ways to make strong cases so far in 2019 with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

As great as it’s been for San Francisco to have Jimmy Garoppolo healthy, the defense has actually been the major difference-maker for helping the team start 6-0 heading into Sunday’s meeting with Carolina.

Back in September, all hope seemed lost for the Panthers after losing each of their first two games on top of Cam Newton dealing with an injury, but thanks to Kyle Allen giving the offense new life, Carolina has become one of the hottest teams in football.

Winning four games in a row with Allen under center was the last thing any football fan expected to see take place, and it’s even more impressive that he’s yet to throw a single interception.

But with the way the 49ers’ defense is playing, this could change for Allen on Sunday in what should end up being a close battle in the NFC.
