The Oakland Raiders are back on the road in Week 8. This time against the Houston Texans, where another loss could spell doom for the Silver and Black.

The Oakland Raiders bring a disappointing 3-3 record to Houston for a Week 8 game against the Texans. Houston is 4-3 on the season and is also coming off of a seven-point loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

This is an interesting game for Oakland. They were mauled by the Green Bay Packers last week on the road, 42-24, and looked to be overmatched by Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers, who looks to be on some kind of special run in 2019, was clearly the best quarterback and player on the field in Week 7.

Here is the thing in Week 8, Deshaun Watson looks to be a player who will be just as tough to defend. For the Raiders to have any chance in Houston, containing Watson is at the top of the to-do list.

Derek Carr, who was particularly disappointing last Sunday, has to have a better game. The costly turnover in Green Bay that resulted in a touchback as he dove for the end zone was particularly bad. He gets credit for trying, but a two-turnover day will be hard to get past. Carr simply cannot give up the cheap plays that go the other way.

The Raiders need a big bounce-back on Sunday. It’s a ridiculous schedule that has them away from Oakland for a fifth straight game, but to keep pace, they also need a win. Against a good Texans team, it won’t be easy.
