Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns were everyone’s darling entering the 2019 season as they added great pieces in Olivier Vernon and Odell Beckham Jr. via trade. The Browns also nabbed Greedy Williams to bolster their defense through the draft. Everything was lining up perfectly for the Browns — at least until the actual season started.

Browns supposed franchise quarterback Baker Mayfield had the Browns offense humming last year. This year, however, they’ve looked brutal on that side of the ball. Outside of one game, the rushing offense hasn’t been working consistently and the passing offense has really never gotten going.

Offensive line play has been a primary cause for the struggles in Cleveland. While the interior O-line hasn’t been good, they’ve been less problematic than the tackles working on the edge this season. That has been the main weakness of this group. Greg Robinson has dropped off from his career revival last season, but Chris Hubbard has been playing extremely poorly on the right edge of the line.

Adding Trent Williams to the Browns offensive front would go a long way in helping the unit as a whole. The veteran is a solid run blocker that would help Nick Chubb but would help Mayfield and the passing attack more. Bringing in one of the best pass-blocking offensive linemen in the NFL would alleviate some of the pressure being put on the quarterback and give the Browns offense a true opportunity to reach their potential.
