3. Damon Harrison, DT – Detroit Lions

Antwaun Woods was back on the field in Week 7 and that was a great sight. The Cowboys defense really struggled against the run without their big nose tackle. His stats don’t jump off the page as Woods has only four tackles this season but his ability to cover up gaps and take on multiple blockers helps the entire defensive line.

While he has been good in that regard, Dallas could stand to get even better. They would definitely be doing that should they find a way to land Damon Harrison — who is actually friends with Woods and was seen at the Cowboys playoff game against Seattle last season in his friend’s jersey.

At 30 years old, Harrison might not have many seasons left but he still has the ability to stop a team’s rushing attack. In his nine-year career, ‘Snacks’ has been credited with 454 tackles, 11 sacks, four forced fumbles, and three pass defenses.

Currently on the Lions, Harrison is part of a deep defensive tackle group and could be dealt as they look for future assets that Matt Patricia and company can build their roster up with. The only question is whether or not Dallas actually sees this as a need.

For years, defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli has acted as though he could plug anyone into the nose tackle spot. The result hasn’t been great, which was seen when the Los Angeles Rams were able to run all over them in the Divisional Round of the 2018 NFL Playoffs. Adding a player such as Harrison would guarantee a better performance in such a game this season.
