7. Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame

Notre Dame has a rising star on their hands in tight end Cole Kmet. At the start of the season, Kmet’s name wasn’t on many radars. He’s a dual-threat athlete who played both baseball and football. However, he wasn’t getting much playing time early on at Notre Dame.

Last season, Kmet totaled just 162 yards in nine games. The former baseball player finally got the start this season, and he’s showing off his talent. Notre Dame didn’t come away with the victory in a blowout loss to Michigan in Week 9, but Kmet found the end zone on one of his two catches.

Kmet has scored in four games this season where he has 23 catches and 290 yards. One of his best performances came in his season debut against Georgia where he finished with nine catches, 108 yards and a score.

What stands out about Kmet is his ability to exploit the seam. He’s crafty in his release off the line of scrimmage and he’s a solid inline blocker. He’s putting together a solid season that will get him drafted.

Kmet could stand to come back for another season to improve his draft stock but could still be a great fit for teams running a run-heavy power scheme. If he can continue to find the end zone, Kmet’s stock will rise.
