5. J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State

Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins needed a bounce-back year after a disappointing 2018 season. In 2018, he rushed for 350 yards less than he did in his freshman season with a 4.6 yards per carry average — he averaged 7.2 as a freshman.

In 2019, Dobbins has been nothing short of elite for the Buckeyes. He’s on pace to rush for over 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns on a 7.1 yards per carry average. Against Wisconsin, he racked up 163 yards on 8.2 yards per carry and two touchdowns.

He continues to show why his name should be mentioned as one of the top running back prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft. The 5-10, 217-pound back brings excellent vision, an elite first step and big-play ability. Moreover, he’s a solid receiver out of the backfield who’ll end his college career with more than 70 receptions.

The way he runs is similar to Knowshon Moreno. He has a suddenness to his game and the ability to stop and start. He breaks arm tackles and has a good leg drive. His best fit will come in pass-heavy offenses opposed to a smash-mouth power scheme. Dobbins is a top 50 prospect and his stock will continue to rise.
