13. Tannehill improves to 3-0 as Titans starter
The Tennessee Titans took some heat a few weeks ago for their decision to bench Marcus Mariota in favor of Ryan Tannehill, mainly because the former Oregon star wasn’t exactly receiving the best protection from the offensive line.
But after the Titans would go on to win their next two games with Tannehill under center while providing a little spark to the offense, no one seems to be questions the decision anymore by the organization since the team is back in the playoff conversation.
Then again, the argument can be made that Tannehill has benefitted from playing two mediocre teams in the Los Angeles Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, meaning this weekend’s test against the Carolina Panthers will be a good test.
Despite how things played out last weekend on the road in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Panthers still deserve to be viewed as a serious contender in the NFC when looking at all of the talent Ron Rivera has to work with.
With that being said, Tennessee will most likely look at last week’s film to see how San Francisco was able to expose some of Carolina’s weaknesses while putting Tannehill in great position to remain undefeated this year as the starter for the Titans.
