1. Pittsburgh’s five-game winning streak over Indy snaps

The last time the Steelers lost to the Colts was back in 2008. After trading blows with Indianapolis during Peyton Manning‘s rule, Roethlisberger and company dominated the matchup during Luck’s short career. That streak will end on Sunday afternoon.

The first win in the five-game stretch came in 2011. From there, the Steelers won matchups in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. In two instances, the Steelers only won by a field goal. However, the other three games were blowouts in favor of Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh’s greatest win during the streak came in 2014 when Roethlisberger produced one of the finest games of his career. He completed 40 of his 49 pass attempts (81.6%) for 522 yards and six touchdowns. The Steelers won 51-34.

Antonio Brown caught ten passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Heath Miller also crossed the century mark in yards, and Le’Veon Bell racked up 148 yards from scrimmage. Martavis Bryant, a promising rookie at the time, caught two touchdowns. On defense, James Harrison posted the game’s only two sacks. William Gay recorded a pick-six.

Five years later, none of those players will be suiting up for the Steelers. Even Roethlisberger is unavailable because of his season-ending injury. The team is largely led by a new generation of Steelers, but their key pieces have not fully matured yet. With Pittsburgh’s inability to run the ball and lack of talent at quarterback, the Colts will get their first win in this matchup in over a decade.
