At the midway point in the season and entering their bye week in Week 9, here are three observations for the Atlanta Falcons so far this season.

Now officially at the midway point in the 2019 NFL regular season, the Atlanta Falcons have continued to struggle to start the new year. Entering the Week 9 slate of games around the league, the Falcons currently sit at the bottom of both the NFC South and NFL standings through eight games up to this point in the 2019 campaign.

Atlanta comes into the weekend at 1-7 overall, riding a very disappointing six-game losing streak after it was able to secure its first and lone victory of the season in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Falcons, quickly falling in various standings around the NFL, sit in fourth place in the AFC South division, with the gap between teams such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-5 overall), Carolina Panthers (4-3) and New Orleans Saints (7-1) atop the division standings growing more and more each week.

Most recently, Atlanta fell at home to the Seattle Seahawks, dropping the matchup against Seattle at Mercedes Benz Stadium by a score of 27-20. That loss moved the Falcons to 1-3 in front of their home crowd this season, holding a record of 0-4 on the road to this point.

The good news for Atlanta is that it will get the upcoming weekend off from action to try and get everyone back to being healthy in order to try and return to the field and try and put a halt to the current losing streak that is taking place for the Falcons.

With Week 9 being the bye week for the Falcons, now seems like a good time to take a look back at the start of the season and address a few things that have taken place through eight games in the 2019 regular-season schedule.

With Atlanta having the week off this weekend along with the Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams and Saints, let’s dive into three observations for the Falcons now at the midway point in the year.
