Before the New England Patriots take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9, here are three players that must step up and shine in the game for the Patriots.

With the midway point in the 2019 NFL season officially among us, the New England Patriots have remained as one of the top teams in the league throughout the first half of the year. While still not losing a game so far through eight weeks of action, the Patriots will hit the road for one of their toughest tests of the season up to this point in Week 9.

New England will travel to Baltimore to face off against fellow AFC opponent the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football at M&T Bank Stadium. The game will feature two of the top squads in the AFC so far this season.

The Patriots are coming off of a game in Week 8 where they took down the Cleveland Browns on Sunday evening 27-13 at home at Gillette Stadium.

In that game, New England got out to a quick start in the contest while jumping out to a 17-7 lead in the opening half of the matchup. The Patriots outscored the Browns 10-6 in the second half to coast to yet another win this season by taking down Cleveland by 14 points.

With the win, New England improved to a perfect 8-0 in the 2019 campaign and don’t appear to be slowing down coming into Week 9 this weekend. The Patriots remain atop the AFC standings and AFC East division, leading the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins in the division standings.

On the other end of the field, New England takes on a Baltimore Ravens squad that is riding a three-game winning streak coming off of a bye week after most recently taking down the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7, topping the Seahawks 30-16 in Seattle.

The Ravens, who are 5-2 overall through eight weeks of the regular season schedule, sits in first place in the AFC North standings, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers, Browns and Cincinnati Bengals in the division.

Both teams come into the contest on Sunday night looking to extend their winning streaks while continuing to remain atop both their respective divisions and the AFC standings in general, which should make for an entertaining game on national television on Sunday Night Football.

Before the Patriots travel to face the Ravens in Baltimore, let’s dive into three players that are going to have to step up and perform well for New England in order to remain undefeated on the year.
