Defensive Line: B-

The Packers defensive line hasn’t been as dominant as we’ve seen in recent years, largely thanks to the absence of now-Lions defensive tackle Mike Daniels, but there have still been moments of brilliance from this group.

Defensive tackle Kenny Clark has been the most impressive of the group and appeared on track for an All-Pro caliber season during the first three weeks. Unfortunately, Clark has been dealing with a nagging calf injury and his impressive play has trailed off considerably. If you asked him whether the injury affects him, Clark would likely say it doesn’t, but the tape says otherwise. Something just isn’t right.

Next to Clark is defensive end Dean Lowry, who signed a new three-year contract extension over the offseason. Lowry has been inconsistent, showing games where he looks Pro Bowl-caliber and others where he looks like a backup. Meanwhile, true backup defensive tackle Montravius Adams has shown signs of promise but still isn’t ready to be a full-time starter.

Tyler Lancaster has been one of the unsung heroes of the group, particularly excelling as a run stuffer. Rookie Kingsley Keke hasn’t garnered much playing time, only logging 35 snaps, but he’s been excellent, especially in the running game. Overall, this group has plenty of room to grow but earns a conservative B- at the moment because of lapses in run defending.
