The Los Angeles Chargers move on from Philip Rivers as they land Jalen Hurts while the Redskins land a top-flight receiver in a new 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

With half the 2019 NFL season in the books, there are already several teams looking ahead to next season. Some franchises such as the Washington Redskins, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons all know their year will end without a playoff berth so they’re planning for the future.

There’s also the Miami Dolphins, who started that process before this season even began. They’ve put on a tanking clinic this season as they’ve done everything they could to ensure they’ll end up with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Other teams are starting to approach that point — with the Los Angeles Chargers being one that’s right on the cusp. After going 12-4 last season, the Chargers were expected to be contenders again this season but that hasn’t been the case.

They’ve been unimpressive thus far and were lucky to move to 3-5 with a one-point win in Week 8. Leading the Chicago Bears 17-16, the Chargers watched as Eddy Piñeiro missed a 41-yard game-winning attempt.

Before that game, there was talk that the Bolts were considering making a huge change. With them struggling to win, Matt Miller of Bleacher Report said they were “seriously considering” moving on from quarterback Philip Rivers and they apparently are interested in LSU’s Joe Burrow.

The win will slow the talk of them moving on and it will be hard to nab Burrow without landing in the top-10 — which they don’t in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft. That doesn’t mean they can’t find a new signal-caller, because there will be some options available this season — which is good because several teams need to land new gunslingers.

And with all that being said, we kick things off with the Miami Dolphins making the selection at No. 1. As a side note, the order for this draft is determined by our latest 2019 NFL Power Rankings.
