2020 NFL Mock Draft: Chargers grab Jalen Hurts, Jerry Jeudy to Redskins
By Randy Gurzi
There are a few different ways the New York Giants can go here. They found a quarterback they believe in with Daniel Jones under center but they need to get him some receivers. However, with Jerry Jeudy already gone they go another route. Offensive tackle is also an option but they skip that as well with the recent investment made as they added Nate Solder, Kevin Zeitler, and Will Hernandez all in the past two seasons.
With all that being said, they decide to add a playmaker on the defensive side of the ball in Isaiah Simmons. The Clemson linebacker has been all over the field for the Tigers, racking up 64 tackles and six sacks this season. His thin build may turn some teams off but that won’t be an issue in New York’s 3-4 defense. They can surround him with bigger bodies and let him fly around making good things happen.
Garrett Bolles hasn’t been the guy for the Denver Broncos — and if they want Drew Lock to succeed as a quarterback, they need a better left tackle. That’s why they take Andrew Thomas out of Georgia here with the No. 6 overall pick. Thomas stands above the other prospects in this class and will keep Lock clean for many years to come.
It won’t solve all the problems in Denver but this surely can help them evaluate their next new quarterback.
