With the New England Patriots falling to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9, here are three studs and duds from the contest for New England.

In the ninth week of the 2019 NFL season, the New England Patriots have finally suffered their first loss of the year. The Patriots, which opened the season undefeated heading into Week 9 on Sunday night on the road, fell for the first time this year, going down on Sunday Night Football to an AFC opponent.

New England entered Baltimore for a showdown against the Ravens on Sunday night, ending up dropping a game for the first time this year at the hands of the Ravens, 37-20. In the game, the Ravens jumped out to a sizable lead and didn’t look back for the remainder of the contest to hand the defending Super Bowl champions their first loss of the year.

Baltimore held a 10-0 advantage after the first quarter at M&T Bank Stadium, eventually carrying a 17-13 lead going into halftime at home against New England.

In the second half, the Ravens remained on the gas to take down the Patriots. With both teams ending the third quarter knotted up at 7-7 to bring the game to 24-20, Baltimore tacked on 13 points in the fourth quarter and held New England scoreless in the final frame to come away with a 17-point victory in front of its home crowd.

With the loss, the Patriots dropped to 8-1 overall on the season while seeing their losing streak come to an end to begin the year at eight games in a row. New England still remains ahead of the Buffalo Bills (6-2), New York Jets (1-7) and Miami Dolphins (1-7) atop the AFC East.

New England will get the next week off while going through its bye week in Week 10, getting back to action in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 17 in Philadelphia.
