30. Atlanta Falcons (30)

There’s really no way this season could have gone any worse for the Atlanta Falcons than it has in the first eight weeks. They’re sitting at 1-7 and have been an absolute mess, especially on defense. That’s especially concerning given the fact that head coach Dan Quinn has a background in coaching that side of the ball — and yet he hasn’t been able to find any semblance of consistency there whatsoever.

He was given a pass for the shortcomings in 2018 due to their terrible luck with injuries. They had some of their best players, including safety Keanu Neal and linebacker Deion Jones, miss significant time. It’s hard to overcome that but this season, that hasn’t been the issue. They’ve just been bad.

Heading into the season, Quinn and general manager Thomas Dimitroff expressed urgency for themselves. They knew that they were on the hot seat due to the decline. Now, just a few seasons after nearly winning a Super Bowl following the 2016 campaign, they both could be headed out the door before next year.

It’s probably even more frustrating to watch the success Quinn’s former offensive coordinator, Kyle Shanahan, is having with San Francisco. While Atlanta can’t win a game, their offensive innovator from that Super Bowl run has yet to lose a game in 2019.
