2. Carr goes off for 300+ yards

The Oakland Raiders are on a mission in 2019. After being thought little of leading into the season, they now have people in the NFL world talking playoffs. And after what looked to be a disastrous beginning with Antonio Brown, the Silver and Black are a position to make a run in the second half of the season.

One key reason is quarterback Derek Carr. In their 31-24 win against the Lions, Carr was again impressive, throwing for 289 yards, completing 20 passes on 31 attempts with two touchdowns.

Carr is having an incredible season. He is comfortable in Jon Gruden’s system, is certainly making the most of his opportunities on the field, and he has the chance to perhaps get his long shot Raiders in striking distance of the playoffs. While winning the AFC West is highly unlikely, Oakland’s play in a watered-down AFC West has them in position to call there shot.

Look for Carr to carry over what has been two solid weeks of turnover-free football. While his 289 and two touchdowns were solid in Week 9, it comes on the heels of another noteworthy performance in a loss against the Texans. In Houston, he threw for 285 yards with 18 completions on 30 attempts. He also had three touchdowns in the 27-24 defeat.

Like Jacobs, Carr is clicking on all cylinders. Look for him to light it up again the Chargers in Week 10.
