The Philadelphia Eagles are currently out of the playoffs in the NFC. With the stretch run coming up, they have a great chance of getting back in the playoff picture.

The Philadelphia Eagles are entering their bye week at a place many didn’t expect them to be. Sitting at 5-4, the  Eagles are currently on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs in the NFC.

As a team, they have been up and down through the first half of the season. One week, they play up to their capabilities and the next, they flop and fail to produce. Philly has the talent to be a legit contender in the NFC, but the lack of consistency is what has them not in the playoffs at this point.

Injuries have also played a part in how their season has turned out so far. Injuries happen in the game of football but it seems like the Eagles’ injuries have piled up since Week 1. The rotation of players in and out of the lineup prevents the team from finding cohesion and synergy, which could be the reason their play has been inconsistent.

With injuries at key positions, they had to rely on young, unproven players and that came back to bite occasionally.

Despite the injuries and their hot and cold play through the first nine weeks, the Eagles still have a chance to get back in the playoff picture. Their schedule is considerably easier the second half of their season, and the plethora of division games also puts them in a good position. Not to mention, they are riding a two-game winning streak entering the bye, and the offense is getting into a groove as well.
