Favorable Schedule

As it was mentioned earlier, the Eagles’ schedule the rest of the way is very favorable. Four of their last seven games are at home including their first two games coming off the bye week against the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. It does help that these games are played in Philly, as the Eagles are currently 3-1 at home this season.

Despite the home-field advantage, neither of these games won’t be a cakewalk. They will have to defeat Tom Brady and the Patriots’ phenomenal defense, as well as MVP frontrunner Russell Wilson. However, if the Eagles can perform at the level they have during their two-game win streak they should be able to win one, if not both of those contests.

After facing those two difficult opponents, Philadelphia will play some of the NFL’s worst teams in four out of their last five games. They face the Miami Dolphins (Week 13), the New York Giants twice (Weeks 14 and 17), and the Washington Redskins (Week 15).

Heading into Week 10, these teams have a combined record of 4-22. The Eagles should easily beat these teams unless some kind of epic collapse happens.

If everything goes well for the Eagles, it is very likely that they are going to play for the division crown against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16. That game is also at home, which again plays in Philly’s favor. The Cowboys have also played inconsistent football and have a more difficult schedule to navigate in the stretch run.

The Eagles could wind up with the division crown, which guarantees them a home game in the playoffs. It has been a tradition that the NFC East crown comes down to a divisional game in late December, and that tradition should continue this year. That is if the Eagles handle their business leading up to that matchup.
