5. Jeffrey Okudah, CB, Ohio State

The first thing that jumps off the screen is Jeffrey Okudah’s length and athleticism. He’s 6-1, 193 pounds with the ability to put on weight. If he does, his ability to play with more strength at the line of scrimmage is scary. Okudah is plenty strong with his jam and does a fantastic job getting into his backpedal.

Okudah mirrors receivers and appears to understand how and when receivers break off their routes. He has good speed and elite quickness that allows him to stick and stack receivers.

In off-man coverage, he has the ability to click and close and it showed with his first interception against Nebraska. He does a great job displaying patience, allowing the receiver to get close enough to him before he eats up space. If he gets beat, he has great acceleration to make up for it.

Because Ohio State uses him in press bail coverage, he can come in right away for an NFL team in a Cover-3 scheme. Still, he has the tools to play press-man coverage. His versatility is also aided by his willingness to stick his nose in the run game.

Okudah is an elite prospect that can play in any scheme; he’ll hear his name called somewhere in the top five.
