4. Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama

The No. 1 wide receiver prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft class is Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy. The 6-1, 192-pound receiver doesn’t have freakish size, but he has freakish skills. The most glaring is his ability to blow the top off a defense.

The evidence lies in the years he averaged 18.9 and 19.3 yards per reception. His burst allows him to blow past defensive backs while his elite acceleration allows him to catch passes that appear overthrown. However, he isn’t just a speed receiver.

There isn’t a receiver in the class that tops Jeudy as a route runner. He doesn’t just separate on deep routes, he does so at every level. It starts with Jeudy’s elite foot and hand quickness which allow him to win at the line of scrimmage.

You won’t see Jeudy rounding routes unless it’s designed. He doesn’t overuse head fakes or chop steps to break down defensive backs at the top of routes. Instead, Jeudy sticks his foot in the ground and uses his quickness to separate at the stem. He works the middle of the field like a pro with his ability to understand soft spots in coverage.

Jeudy is also effective after the catch, he knows how to break tackles and make guys miss. He’ll likely hear his name called somewhere inside the top 10 and he deserves it.
