WR. Las Vegas Raiders. Henry Ruggs III. 17. player. 28.

As impressive as the Oakland Raiders have been this season in relation to preseason expectations, one area where this team is still clearly lacking is in regards to offensive playmakers. Josh Jacobs has been awesome and tight end Darren Waller has been a breakout player this season. Having said that, they need a receiver option beyond Tyrell Williams and the effective but limited Hunter Renfrow.

That’s why they bring in Henry Ruggs III with the 17th pick in this mock draft. Alabama’s speedy wide receiver is an absolute freak in terms of the speed that he possesses but he’s not just all juice and nothing else. He has great footwork to separate and can be both a deep threat and versatile playmaker underneath. He would be a massive addition to an offense that needs a jumpstart.

DT. Carolina Panthers. Javon Kinlaw. 18. player. 87.

Is defensive tackle the most immediate need for the Carolina Panthers? Surely not. This team could stand to upgrade at cornerback or safety — or even to address quarterback given the uncertain future of Cam Newton. Having said that, this is a team that is not going to pass on a guy like Javon Kinlaw falling into their laps with the No. 18 pick in the draft.

Kinlaw is a physical beast at 6-6, 302 pounds who has really developed into a star for South Carolina. He’s proven time and again against SEC competition that he’s simply a matchup that has to be accounted for whenever he’s on the field, whether it’s against the run and pass. Fortifying their defensive front will only help make the Panthers more dangerous moving forward, no matter what direction the offense is heading moving forward.
