4. Sean Lee, LB

What a year it has been for Sean Lee. After the way Leighton Vander Esch burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2018, Lee became a forgotten man. After being the biggest name on the Dallas defense for years, Lee was suddenly the third wheel to the Wolf Hunter and Jaylon Smith.

His problem with injuries didn’t help any as fans were quick to forget his impact while he was on the sideline and the young guns were lighting it up. In fact, it seemed all but guaranteed Lee was going to be retired this season.

Then that changed as he decided to return and switched to the SAM linebacker position. He’s not as impactful there but his vision, smarts, and leadership have been huge. Not only that, but Lee gives them someone capable of playing all three spots and that already came in handy as he had to start at the WILL linebacker position in Week 9 when LVE was out with a neck injury.

On that Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants, it was vintage Sean Lee. He had 12 to tackles, one for a loss, and broke up a pass. He was also integral in their win before the bye week as he completely dominated an entire series against the Eagles in the fourth quarter.

The ultimate team-first guy, Lee even offered to take a pay cut to stay in Dallas and he will probably do the same in 2020. If so, this is a no-brainer. Lee needs to come back and should be allowed to finish his career with the Cowboys.
