Kliff, Kyler and the Killer Cardinal Offense

Sticking with the theme of weirdness, let me introduce to you the 2019 Arizona Cardinals. After tying their first game, Arizona has been alternating between three-game streaks of winning and losing.

Coming off their third-straight loss, there is still hope for the future of the franchise. That’s right, the Kyler Murray-Kliff Kingsbury marriage has been working.

The Cardinals have the fastest offense in the NFL, taking less than 25 seconds per play, according to Football Outsiders. Arizona has also given up the fewest offensive turnovers this season, thus making them tied for first with New Orleans. As for Kyler Murray, it’s safe to say his rookie season has gone alright.

Unfortunately, the advanced statistics don’t reflect too much in the standings. With a 3-6-1 record and games against the 49ers and Seahawks on schedule, the postseason is looking out of reach for the Cardinals.

However, it should be noted that Arizona lost to San Fransisco two weeks ago by only three points. They also fell to Baltimore by only six points, too. Those are two of the best teams in the NFL.

The obvious reason for the Cardinals’ struggles: A lack of talent. The offensive line has allowed the fifth-most sacks and the defense has allowed the most yards and second-most points all season. Hey, it’s better to look on the bright side if you’re an Arizona fan, and in this case, you might want to whip out some sunglasses when looking at Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray.
