17. Vikings score two defensive touchdowns

One week after suffering a heartbreaking loss on the road to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Minnesota Vikings made a major statement on Sunday night by handing the Dallas Cowboys a loss in front of their own fans.

After dealing with some issues in September, the Vikings have found a way to emerge as one of the top contenders in the NFC over the last two months, and appear to be in control of their own playoff destiny.

If the season were to end today, Minnesota would currently hold the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoff picture since they still trail the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North race, although there is plenty of time to catch up.

As for Week 11, the Vikings will look to take advantage of the Denver Broncos coming to town with Brandon Allen as their starting quarterback since Joe Flacco went to IR.

With all due respect to Allen, this could quickly become one of those games in which Minnesota’s defense has a field day by applying constant pressure throughout the contest.

Assuming this happens, it will only continue to put the Vikings in better shape to secure one of those playoff spots in the NFC, whether it happens to be through the division or a Wild Card spot.
