Running Backs

High-priced studs such as Christian McCaffrey (CAR vs. ATL, $10,500), Ezekiel Elliott (DAL at DET, $9,000), and Dalvin Cook (MIN vs. DEN, $8,900) are never a bad play, especially with such favorable matchups. However, DFS players will be hard-pressed to fit more than one in a DraftKings lineup due to cost.

Josh Jacobs (OAK vs. CIN, $6,900) might be priced inside the top 10, but he’s still a value for the price against a bumbling Bengals defense. Currently leading the league in rushing yards after contact per attempt, Jacobs is a must-start in any format and my overall RB1 this week.

Tevin Coleman (SF vs. ARI, $6,100): With Matt Breida unlikely to play, and Raheem Mostert limited at best, Coleman is in line for a huge day against a team that runs plays more quickly than any other in the league, a practice that allows efficient offensive opponents opportunities to bank extra time of possession, and usually yields more plays from scrimmage.

Combine this with a favorable game script and George Kittle‘s absence, and the probability of Coleman crossing the stripe is high; he could very well log his second multi-touchdown game in just four weeks.

Devin Singletary (BUF at MIA, $6,000): A juicy matchup should yield a memorable homecoming of sorts for the Florida Atlantic product. Singletary is one week removed from a 140 total yard, one-touchdown effort against the Redskins; he should eclipse those numbers this week.

James White (NE at PHI $5,400): White is as consistent as they come, logging at least 11 fantasy points in every game this season. Given his prowess as a pass catcher, White should continue that streak against a formidable Eagles run defense.

Damien Williams (KC at LAC, $5,300): LeSean McCoy returns this week, and that will cause many to shy away from Williams, despite two solid back-to-back outings. Expect Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid to continue riding the hot hand, which in this case is Williams, not McCoy.

Brian Hill (ATL at CAR, $4,800): With Devonta Freeman on the shelf, Hill is the Week 11 waiver wire wonder du jour. However, expectations are tempered by Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn’s veiled comments pointing to a role in the game plan for Qadree Ollison. Hill should see enough volume to be a fantasy factor, but he may not be deployed the way we’d like in goal-line packages:

Derrius Guice  (WAS vs. NYJ, $4,700): Don’t expect Guice to shoulder a workhorse load in his first game back from a serious knee injury and multiple follow-up surgeries. However, Adrian Peterson has a lingering toe issue, and while he doesn’t carry a designation, his absence from practice on Thursday is noteworthy. I’m no Guice truther, but DFS players can certainly plug in the former LSU superstar as a flex against a New York Jets defense that can’t get out of its own way.

J.D. McKissic (DET vs. DAL, $4,600): The talented receiver out of the backfield has logged two straight weeks of 11 or more fantasy points, and has begun carving out a sustainable role in the  Lions backfield. His stable floor in DraftKings DFS contests makes him an attractive option for the price.

Miles Sanders (PHI vs. NE, $4,100): With Jordan Howard‘s playing status very much in doubt, and Darren Sproles now out for the season, expect Sanders to get more run than ever in Week 11. His  productivity as receiver out of the backfield makes him essentially game script-proof in a contest that should offer plenty of volume, one way or another. He’s almost a must-start at this price.

Honorable mentions for those crafting “studs and scrubs” lineups include Darrel Williams (KC at LAC, $3,400) and Jeff Wilson Jr. (SF vs. ARI, $3,300). The latter has an open path to touches with Breida and Mostert banged up; Wilson has received goal line love in the past, with two multi-touchdown games to his credit already this season.

Dig even deeper for Qadree Ollison (ATL at CAR, $3,000), who could see a similar role at an even lower price. For those with extremely high-risk tolerances, Miami Dolphins rookie Myles Gaskin (MIA vs. BUF, $3,000) is a dart throw who could get some run from a team that will hopefully tire of Kalen Ballage‘s subpar play someday soon.
