Pro Bowl voting has just begun and the Green Bay Packers have plenty of deserving players. Here are 10 players who should garner a nomination.
It’s been a heck of a run for the Green Bay Packers in 2019. Currently standing at 8-2, the Packers enter their bye week with plenty of optimism for the rest of the season. And with Pro Bowl voting just beginning, Green Bay has plenty of viable candidates.
The Packers have been one of the NFL’s most opportunistic defenses through 10 weeks. Though they give up huge chunk plays and lots of yardage, the defense is at their best when it matters most. Green Bay has one of the best red zone defenses in the league and getting crucial stops on third-down hasn’t been hard, either.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Packers once again boast one of the league’s most efficient quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers has been more of a game manager than ever so far this season, but he’s still putting up respectable numbers and making the necessary throws when needed.
Running back Aaron Jones has been the biggest breakout player on offense, racking up 943 total yards and 14 total touchdowns along the way. Jones appears to be a lock for the Pro Bowl, and could even enter All-Pro consideration depending on how the rest of the season unfolds. Meanwhile, star wide receiver Davante Adams is back after a four-game hiatus (turf toe) earlier in the season and should have an excellent final six games.
Of course, a good offense is nothing without its offensive line. The Packers O-line has been outstanding so far, allowing just 14 sacks through 10 games. Rodgers has been kept relatively clean in the pocket, Jones and Jamaal Williams have had plenty of room to run, and the defense is doing its job when it counts.
Together, all three formulas add up to sustained success for the Packers as a whole. Because of that, Green Bay has several players worthy of being named to the Pro Bowl. Here are the Packers’ Pro Bowl candidates after 10 weeks.
