The Baltimore Ravens have been focusing on the offensive side of the ball in recent drafts, and it’s really paid off. They found a franchise quarterback in Lamar Jackson and he has plenty of weapons with Mark Andrews, Marquise Brown, and Hayden Hurst.
Now, they switch things up and add to the defensive side of the ball with Julian Okwara from Notre Dame. He’ll miss the rest of the season due to a broken leg but he proved before the injury that he can get after the quarterback in a hurry.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound edge rusher would be a great fit in the team’s 3-4 defense. And they can use some speed off the edge after losing a few players ahead of this season.
The San Francisco 49ers lost their first game of the season in Week 10 as the Seattle Seahawks defeated them in overtime. After the game, there was a lot of frustration with Jimmy Garoppolo, who struggled at the end of that.
They won’t be turning on him just yet but instead will keep trying to add talent around him. While wide receiver is a consideration here, they end up going with Prince Tega-Wanogho who can develop behind Joe Staley and eventually take over for the 35-year old.
For years, the 49ers haven’t had to worry about the blindside and this move allows them to continue to feel confident in this area.
