Chicago Bears: 3 Observations from Week 11 loss to Rams
The Chicago Bears’ playoff hopes are now dashed as they lost to the Los Angeles Rams. Let the drama begin now. Here are the big takeaways from the game.
Another week, another frustrating loss. The Chicago Bears took it on the chin again with a 17-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. With the loss, all talk about them making the playoffs should end.
The offense again struggled to get anything going. This time, however, the kicking game added to the frustration. Two missed field goals basically kept the Bears from having a chance to win the game.
Now the narrative turns to how the front office changes things. General manager Ryan Pace and company need to prioritize the offense for the team to compete in the NFC North and the NFC.
The Bears did move the ball a little better, though. Of their 12 drives, six were five plays or less, and four were three-and-outs. They had two drives of 12 plays. One resulted in the only score of the game for the Bears and the other resulted in a missed field goal attempt. They also had a nine-play drive that also resulted in a missed field goal.
To add to the drama, head coach Matt Nagy pulled quarterback Mitchell Trubisky from the game. The Bears later said that it was due to a hip injury. However, others speculated that the coach tried to send a message that he’s had enough of the young player’s mistakes.
This will be an interesting week for the Bears. Now that the playoffs are in their rearview window, do they sit certain players down to see what they have to a: work with for a deal in the offseason, and/or b: keep so they become contributors next season.
Here are my thoughts on the Bears’ loss to the Rams in Week 11.
