17. Philadelphia Eagles (16)

Things were looking great for the Philadelphia Eagles early on as they hosted the New England Patriots. Already up 3-0, they went on a shockingly long drive as they covered 95 yards on 16 plays during a drive that ate up 9:33 seconds. That drive started in the first quarter and went well into the second and helped the Eagles take an early 10-0 lead. After that, they went silent.

New England scored nine points to close out the half and the Eagles had no drives go more than five plays after that 16-play performance until late in the fourth. By then, they were trailing 17-10 and found themselves in desperation mode.

Carson Wentz moved them down to the New England 26 but then three consecutive incompletions ended their comeback attempt. They did force one last punt after that but with no timeouts and 34 seconds, there was never any real threat that were going to tie it up after Wentz fourth-down incompletion on their prior possession.

They now find themselves a full game behind the Dallas Cowboys who moved to 6-4 with a win over Detroit earlier on the day. They should be proud of how they fought against the Patriots but they’re in a bad spot now nevertheless.
