3. New England Patriots (3)

The defending champions continue to find ways to win, even if it’s not what we’re used to seeing. Always one of the most balanced teams in the league, the Patriots are much better on defense this season than they are on offense. They proved that once again in Week 11 when they put the clamps on the Philadelphia Eagles after the home team went up 10-0 on them.

Philly scored on a ridiculous 95-yard drive that took up nearly 10 minutes of game time. It was a full 16 plays and the Patriots were clearly upset they allowed that as they shut them down from there, not even allowing a drive to go longer than five plays until the second-to-last drive.

On that one, they still shut them out as the Eagles got to the 26-yard line but they threw four-straight incompletions to turn it back over to New England. They then forced Philadelphia to use all their timeouts and watched the clock run out on them.

Now at 9-1, the Patriots are still one of the better teams in the AFC. They understand how to win and should be players in the AFC Playoff picture, just like they always are. The only question is whether or not Tom Brady can get enough help on offense to get it done.
