2. San Francisco 49ers (1)

This was the best way to answer their first loss of the season, especially considering how they lost. The San Francisco 49ers had several opportunities to knock off the Seattle Seahawks last week but never were able to do it.

They had a final drive as well as some chances in overtime. In the end, they watched the Seahawks celebrate on their field, which opened up questions about Jimmy Garoppolo’s ability to lead them on game-winning drives.

Now one week later, he had a chance to redeem himself and did just that. Trailing 26-23, Jimmy G went 65 yards on eight plays and with less than a minute to go, he fired a strike into the end zone and hit Jeff Wilson, Jr. for the winning touchdown. It was his fourth touchdown pass of the game and he finished with 424 yards through the air.

He didn’t get much help at all from the running game as they went for only 34 yards on the ground but rookie receiver Deebo Samuel was able to step up and make some plays for them. He pulled in eight receptions foe 134 yards as he’s continuing to develop into a wideout Garoppolo can believe in.

San Francisco already boasts a nasty defense so the more dangerous this offense looks, the harder it will be to count them out in the NFC.
