Chicago Bears: Studs and duds vs. Rams in Week 11
By Kamil Roy
Stud: Buster Skrine
Although unable to do much in the tackle department (only finishing with two the game), on two separate occasions, cornerback Buster Skrine forced two fumbles. While both would go on to be recovered by the Rams, Skrine showed great vision and poise during the game, doing his part to try and make plays on the ball.
Similarly, to Smith, despite not having a great season by any means, it was a great outing that gives Bears fans hope that perhaps the 30-year old still has some gas left in the tank. Perhaps this is a performance he can build off of moving forward this season.
Dud: Mitchell Trubisky
With the exception of one well-thrown touchdown pass to wide receiver Taylor Gabriel, Mitchell Trubisky couldn’t have better replicated the way he has played all season — that is to say: poorly.
Constantly missing his receivers throughout the night, Trubisky was simply awful. Getting sacked on three occasions and getting easily intercepted by cornerback Troy Hill were just part of the issues for the third-year quarterback whose time as the leading man of the Chicago offense may be coming to a close.
After his benching, it is becoming more and more evident that the concerns expressed by people who have questioned Trubisky’s abilities are now even further justified.
